Alberto Caicedo is a Colombian-born composer and multi-instrumentalist
and visionary in the world of Salsa. Originally from Guapi, on Colombia’s Pacific Coast, his music is a powerful fusion of traditional salsa with the rich percussive rhythms of his homeland—a sound that’s both deeply rooted and boldly forward-looking.
A self-taught prodigy who went on to study at the Rotterdam Conservatory, Caicedo has mastered a wide range of instruments, bringing unmatched versatility and artistry to his performances. His impressive career includes collaborations with salsa icons such as Cheo Feliciano, Willie Colón, and Yuri Buenaventura, affirming his stature on the international stage.

A dynamic project that highlights their unique ability to sing and play instruments simultaneously.
After graduating from the Rotterdam Conservatory, Colombian multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Alberto Caicedo and Luxembourgish percussionist Eric Durrer reunited years later in Luxembourg. In 2015, they joined forces to form DUO MESTIZO, a dynamic project that highlights their unique ability to sing and play instruments simultaneously.
Their vibrant repertoire blends timeless Latin American classics with original compositions, inviting audiences on a rich musical journey through South America and the Caribbean.
